New Marketing Service from HLAC
HLAC introduces its Hospital Mailing Program for newly accredited laundries. The program includes the mailing of a formal announcement letter, signed by the HLAC Chairperson, announcing your recent accreditation to five hospitals you select -- at no charge (additional letters are mailed for $10 a letter). A two-sided, four-color Fact Sheet is included with the letter. The Fact Sheet can be purchased separately for a minimal fee, plus shipping, and outlines the benefits of accreditation in a one-page, professional and user-friendly format.
We have created the Hospital Mailing Program to help you market your accreditation to existing and potential customers and to help educate healthcare executives on HLAC, its mission, standards, and the benefits of working with an accredited laundry. This is an invaluable tool to help you market your accreditation. Call Kathy Tinker to sign up for the Hospital Mailing Program or to order HLAC Fact Sheets: 708-790-1749.

HLAC In The News: Coming to a Meeting Near You
HLAC board members and inspectors have been busy speaking at recent industry meetings, including ARTA's Surgical Textiles Seminar, APIC's Annual Meeting and ALM's Annual Meeting.
HLAC Chairwoman Judy Reino, left, spoke at ARTA's May seminar on Reusable Surgical Textiles in Durham, N.C. "Healthcare operators are interested in learning more about accreditation and the inspection process," she said. "As an organization committed to promoting excellence, we want to share information on the importance of accreditation in as many forums as possible. Operators have questions and it's ideal to answer them in person and one on one.
"You can expect to see board members and inspectors at industry meetings in the coming year," says Reino.
To date, HLAC has committed to speak or exhibit at the following meetings: the TRSA Joint Committee Meeting in August, IATHM and ASHES Annual Meetings in September, ARTA/TRSA Healthcare Seminar in November and Clean '09 in June, 2009.
If you would like an HLAC representative to speak at your meeting, contact Manda Shaw at mshaw@parisco.com. For more information on accreditation and HLAC: www.hlacnet.org.

Ames Linen of Cortland, NY, Passed its Inspection in Record Time - Here's How
Holding the honor of receiving its inspection in record time (from time of application to inspection to receiving accreditation) is Ames Linen of Cortland, NY.
How did the company do it? According to President Johanna Ames, "We have a culture of action. Once we make a decision to do something, we do it. Once we decided to pursue accreditation, we developed a task list and senior management met weekly to review progress."
Ames says the most challenging aspect of preparing for inspection was formalizing the company's documentation patterns.
"We believed we were delivering top-quality goods and service," she says. "With accreditation, we have proof to share with customers and prospects."
