Starting the Application Process

Fill out the Certification Agreement

This will create a free Accreditation Portal where you can view the status of your accreditation & certification, upload documents, and more!

N

After Submission

Now that the agreement has been submitted, HLAC will review it and give you access to your Accreditation Portal where you can then start the process of uploading your required documentation.

N

Document Upload

Once you upload your documents, you’ll be assigned an inspector that will review the records. Meet our Inspectors!

Depending on the state of the documents they may then be submitted to the Accreditation Subcommittees. Our Accreditation Committee is broken up into subcommittees in order to avoid any conflicts with competitors of any kind.

Once the subcommittee or inspector has reviewed the documents, they will determine if there are items that need to be remediated or if the plant has been approved for certification.

What is the cost?

In addition to the HLAC Accreditation fee, the fee for Certified Hygienic Testing is $1,750. This excludes any lab fees.

Already submit results for other organizations? Perfect!

As long as the lab meets the standards requirements, the microbiological sampling you may already be submitting for another program will work for your HLAC Certification.

How do I know if my lab meets the standards?

Check to make sure they are ISO 17025 accredited and EPA GLP compliant. Many may show this on their website but will provide documentation upon request.

How long does certification last?

Certification will follow your accreditation cycle to meet the same expiration date of 3 years.
